Keep it pumping Series – Episode 3

For the first time in a number of years, we now have treatments that improve mortality and morbidity instead of treatments that could basically achieve symptom control. In this edition, Dr Alice Moore explains the recent European Society of Cardiology Guidelines (ESC Guidelines), highlights recent changes in the guidelines and compares with the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Through the example of a patient case, the primary objective of this episode is to help the health care professional understand the rationale behind the treatment approach and the stepwise pharmacological management of heart failure as recommended by ESC and AHA Guidelines.
